Metal Gear Solid 4 may be the best in the series but is it your favorite in the MGS series?
I've beaten MGS4 twice and I've even played online. I think it's a brilliant game but for some reason, I find Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Subsistence) to be my favorite in regards to the main character (Naked Snake), the dramatic storyline involving The Boss, and certain aspects of gameplay.
Also, for everything MGS4 has added into gameplay, it seems they've taken something out: you can't climb on trees or heal injuries via x-ray or eat rats. But then again you can't use octocamo, upgrade weapons, use as many face masks/camo of certain characters, play dead, or roll on the ground like you can in MGS4.
What say you folks?
heh, well it's a hard one, for awhile there I wondered which I liked better. I came to the conclusion that in the end MGS3 was my favorite. Metal Gear Solid 4 follows along with the mainstream plot line where everything is explained out, with hour long details. That's cool and all but when it comes down to it I just don't think the gameplay is as good. MGS3 pitted you against the wilderness and you actually had to blend in with certain camos. you had stamina as well, they even had it so food could rot, it was amazing, and it always had action, the majority of the cutscenes were filled with action. You could fight frickin' crocs. Don't get me wrong I love MGS4, but MGS3 was amazing. The fight with the end trumps nearly all others, and the end of the game always manages to give me goosebumps as I see Naked Snake Salute the boss.
